Glazing is specified and supplied as an integral part of Nordvest windows and doors. All units arrive on site fully glazed and ready to install, with glazing options selected to complement Norwegian-engineered frames and meet UK thermal and acoustic requirements.
Glazing types
Each type suits different buildings and projects. All are available in standard or custom dimensions.
Double glazing uses two panes of glass with a single argon-filled cavity, delivering significantly better thermal and acoustic performance than single glazing, and meeting current UK Building Regulations requirements. Available across the full Nordvest window and door range, with low-emissivity coatings as standard.
Triple glazing uses three panes of glass with two argon filled cavities, delivering significantly lower U-values than double glazing and the performance required for lower energy or Passivhaus builds. All Nordvest windows and doors are available with triple glazing as standard, suitable for lower energy and passive house projects.
Windows are one of the five core principles of a Passivhaus build and one of the most critical decisions to be made. Nordvest windows are supplied with 50mm triple glazed units achieving Ug 0.48 and Uw values as low as 0.6 W/m²K. This meets the glazing performance requirements for PHI certification and fabric-first low-energy builds.
Solar control glass reduces the amount of solar heat entering a building while allowing natural daylight through, preventing overheating on south-facing elevations and in rooms with large glazed areas. Available as an option on all Nordvest windows and doors, with g-values tailored to the building's orientation, climate zone and energy target.
Edge glass windows, sometimes called flush or frameless glazing have glass that extends to cover the outer face of the frame, eliminating any visible frame element on the exterior. The result is a sleek, flush elevation with maximum glazed area. Available with 50mm triple glazed units for Passivhaus or low-energy compatible performance.

Also in our range
All Nordvest products share the same Norwegian-engineered core and glazing performance, and can be ordered together in a single schedule.
Norway has one of the harshest window environments in the world — extreme temperature swings, heavy snow loads, and driving rain. Norwegian windows aren't engineered to meet a minimum standard. They're engineered to last 60 years without performance degradation.
That standard carries directly into every Nordvest glazing supplied to the UK. The same frame profiles, the same hardware, the same glazing systems, built in the same Norwegian factory.
High Performance
Glass from Norway is engineered to deliver exceptional thermal efficiency, durability, and clarity, making it an ideal choice for modern energy-efficient building solutions.
