A single handle controls two distinct opening modes. In the tilt position, the top of the door leaf tilts inward while the bottom stays fixed providing ventilation without the security risk of a fully open door. In the turn position, the door swings on its side hinge like a conventional inward opening door, giving full, unobstructed access.
Tilt and turn doors are the standard solution for Juliet balconies on first floor and above. An outward opening door is not suitable, and a conventional inward opening door provides no ventilation mode. The tilt and turn mechanism solves both requirements with a single handle operation.
Single leaf doors are available in a range of widths. Double leaf configurations are available with one active (tilt and turn) leaf and one passive (turn only) leaf. Where both leaves are required to tilt and turn, a fixed structural post is positioned between the leaves.
The tilt position provides ventilation with the door secure in its frame. A child restrictor can be fitted to limit the turn opening on upper-floor installations. Multi-point locking is standard on all tilt and turn doors.

Nordvest balcony doors are outward opening French doors supplied as single or double leaf, in full height glass or with a solid lower panel. Every door comes with three-point espagnolette locking, a friction stay to hold the door open at any position up to 90°, and a choice of hardwood or low-level threshold in timber or aluminium clad.
Nordvest sliding doors use a lift-and-slide mechanism where the door lifts slightly on its track to slide, then drops back down to seal when closed, giving a weathertight performance that conventional sliding doors cannot match. The ideal solution for large, glazed openings where an outward opening door is not practical.
