Every entrance door is supplied with a three-point espagnolette lock, handle, and double cylinder locking as standard — engaging at top, middle, and bottom for a secure, weathertight seal across the full height of the door.
A low-level threshold is fitted as standard for accessibility and building standard compatibility.
Doors can be hung to open inward or outward. For exposed locations — coastal, upland, or otherwise wind-driven — outward opening is strongly recommended as it provides a greater seal against driving rain and wind pressure.
The door leaf can be specified as fully glazed for maximum light, full panel for privacy and insulation, or a combination of both to suit the architectural intent and planning context.

Entrance doors can be supplied as inward or outward opening. On exposed sites — coastal locations, elevated ground, or anywhere subject to prevailing wind and driving rain — outward opening is strongly recommended. An outward-opening door is pressed harder into its frame seal by wind pressure, rather than away from it, giving a significantly better weathertight performance.
The door leaf can be specified as fully glazed, full panel, or a combination of both. Glazed elements admit natural light into hallways and entrance lobbies. Panel doors provide insulation and privacy while mixed configurations are the most popular choice for residential use.
Three-point espagnolette locking is standard on all entrance doors, engaging the frame at three points vertically along the full height of the door leaf. Double cylinder locking, optional internal thumb-turn with steel strengthening plate and factory fitted ironmongery for enhanced security.
Nordvest entrance doors are suitable for Passivhaus and low-energy new build projects. Insulated panel cores and triple-glazed options contribute to the door's overall U-value.

Tilt and turn doors open inward in two modes: tilted at the top for controlled ventilation, or fully turned on the side hinge for unobstructed access. Most commonly specified as Juliet balcony doors on first floor and above, they are available as single or double leaf in timber or aluminium-clad.
Nordvest balcony doors are outward opening French doors supplied as single or double leaf, in full height glass or with a solid lower panel. Every door comes with three-point espagnolette locking, a friction stay to hold the door open at any position up to 90°, and a choice of hardwood or low-level threshold in timber or aluminium clad.
Nordvest sliding doors use a lift-and-slide mechanism where the door lifts slightly on its track to slide, then drops back down to seal when closed, giving a weathertight performance that conventional sliding doors cannot match. The ideal solution for large, glazed openings where an outward opening door is not practical.
Aluminium clad timber doors give you a powder coated, maintenance free exterior with a warm natural timber finish on the inside. Available across the full Nordvest door range; entrance, balcony, lift and slide, and tilt & turn, in any RAL colour, double or triple glazed, built for a 60-year lifespan.
