Key features

Designed for performance and longevity

Every detail engineered to the Norwegian standard, where doors must perform in extreme climates for decades without failure.

  • Outward opening as standard

Balcony doors open outward, pressing into the frame seal under wind pressure for a weathertight performance, particularly important on exposed locations.

  • Three-point espagnolette locking

The active leaf locks at three points with a security espagnolette, engaging top, middle, and bottom of the frame for a secure, draught-free close. Double cylinder locking or optional thumb turn available.

  • Friction stay

A friction stay holds the active door leaf open at any position up to 90° without the need for a door stop. Useful in areas where the door needs to be held partially open in variable wind conditions.

  • Single and double leaf

Available as a single door or double doors. On double doors, the active leaf can be specified left or right. The passive (slave) leaf is held closed with rebated shoot bolts for added security, released before opening.

  • Full-height glass or panel options

Standard configuration is full height glass for maximum light and view. A solid panel of any height can be specified, useful where privacy or a particular aesthetic is required.

  • Hardwood or low-level threshold

Threshold options include a traditional hardwood sill or a low-level threshold for accessibility.

Specifications

Technical data

Standard specification shown. Triple glazing and aluminium-clad options alter U-values. Contact us for a site-specific calculation.

Single and double configurations

Balcony doors are available as a single outward-opening leaf or as a pair. On double doors, the active leaf — which carries the locking mechanism and handle — can be specified to open left or right to suit the room layout. The passive leaf is held closed with shoot bolts concealed in the rebate, released manually before the passive leaf can be opened.

Security

The active leaf is fitted with a three-point espagnolette lock engaging the frame at top, middle, and bottom, plus double cylinder locking as standard. The passive leaf shoot bolts are located in the rebate rather than on the face of the door — cleaner aesthetically and more secure than surface-mounted bolts.

Door leaf options

The standard configuration is full-height glass, maximising light and views. Insulated panels of any specified height can also be installed. Commonly used to match the height of a window sill line or to provide privacy at low level.

Threshold options

A low-level threshold is available for level-access requirements, suitable for projects where Building Regulations Part M compliance is required. Alternative 56mm hardwood threshold available on request.

Timber and aluminium-clad variants

Available in natural Nordic pine or with an aluminium-clad exterior for a maintenance-free finish. Both variants support the full RAL colour palette, with different internal and external colours available as standard.
