About Nordvest UK
Nordvest UK is the British arm of Nordvestvinduet AS, a Norwegian manufacturer of timber windows and doors established in 1957. We supply architects, building contractors, local authorities, housing developers, and self-builders across the United Kingdom with products built to Scandinavian standards of quality and durability.
Built in Norway since 1957
Our windows and doors are manufactured on the west coast of Norway — one of the most demanding climates in Europe. Extreme wind, driving rain, temperature swings from below freezing to summer warmth: these are the conditions our products are engineered to withstand. When a product performs in western Norway, it performs anywhere in the UK.
That heritage matters. It means our frames are not designed to a minimum standard and then tested. They are designed from the outset to outlast decades of hard weather. We stand behind that with a 15-year product warranty and expect our windows and doors to last 60 years in service.
What makes us different
Nordvest occupies a specific position in the UK market: premium quality, without the premium-luxury price tag. We are not the cheapest option, and we do not try to be. But we offer something most manufacturers cannot — a direct line between the UK client and the factory in Norway.
Our UK team works closely with the manufacturing team. There are no intermediaries, no importers, no distributors taking a margin and adding distance. That short chain means we can answer technical questions with authority, turn around bespoke sizes and configurations efficiently, and give realistic delivery timescales we can actually honour.
Our products
We supply a full range of timber windows — top swing fully reversible, tilt and turn, side hung casement, and fixed frame — together with a complete door range covering main entrance, balcony, sliding, and tilt and turn styles. All products are available in natural timber or aluminium-clad variants, and all glazing types are supplied, including triple glazing, solar control, and acoustic glass.
Custom shapes and sizes are a standard part of what we do, not an exception. Heritage projects with unusual openings, contemporary builds with oversized fixed frames, passive house schemes requiring certified low U-values — all are handled through the same straightforward process.
Who we work with
Our clients include building contractors managing multi-unit residential schemes, local authorities procuring for housing and heritage programmes, architects specifying for demanding projects, and individual self-builders who want to get it right once. We work with all of them in the same way: directly, honestly, and without jargon.
