After a meeting and discussion with the client and contractor, and due to the project location and client requirment for a low energy home, Nordvest Trend Design, Aluminium Clad Windows and Doors with high performance 50mm triple glazing units were chosen incorporating special Antisol glass to the west facing elevation. This window and glazing package offers typical Uw values of less than 0.8 with Ug values of 0.5, the perfect choice for all low energy buildings, including passive house.

The bespoke nature of this project along with the high quality demands of the client also led to the utlisation of our unique integrated glass balustrade option for first floor Juliet balcony style windows. This allows the home owner to enjoy stunning unobstructed views across to the Isle of Arran even when the doors are closed. Should the doors be open, the user can be safely guarded against the risk of falling.

On the same elevation, a number of large fixed units and Lift and Slide Doors were installed making for a living space infused with light while further having the option to extend the living space to the outdoors.
